Group Members: Chole Skibba, Dale Graham, Terry Huelskamp, Julie Bailey, Kurtis Bouton, Mark Evans
Action Plan:
Shannon has done a nice job with this new responsibility, we appreciate her leadership in Matt's abscence.
We have been assigned the task of looking at current school curriculums in digital media safety. We discussed our district and if we have bullying or threatening behaviors today (we agreed we did). We also looked at the current computer usage sign off that is required for all students. We discussed courses that would include discussions on internet or digital safety. We need to conduct rearch in the following areas;
A) Contact district administrators regarding current curriculum at all levels
B) Contact other districts and review their curriculum
c) Review computer usage agreement
D) Review website isite.com for material
We difined digital media to include --- cell phones, I Pods, flashdrives, Palm Pilots, Zunes, Floppys, and CD's
Group Work:
Current curriculum:
- Elementary curriculum does not seem to have any "safety" component that teaches student how to be safe. The teachers provide the oversite for student safety.
- Middle School curriculum includes safety lessons in the Internet and You and Adventures in Computing classes.
- High school curriculum (still looking into this level.)
